Eastern Kentucky will officially get its first-ever entertainment and gaming hub called Sandy’s Racing and Gaming, an investment worth $75 million estimated to produce almost 250 new jobs and collect millions of dollars in new tax income.

Official opening soon:

Sandy’s Racing and Gaming is scheduled to officially open its doors tomorrow, October 26th. However, impatient players are predicted to be queued even earlier. In this regard, commenting on the upcoming opening, President of Sandy’s Racing & Gaming, John Marshall, commented: “With a world-class gaming floor, locally sourced dining options, multiple entertainment stages and an unbelievable BetMGM sportsbook lounge, Sandy’s will be the area’s premier entertainment destination. There is nothing else like Sandy’s and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

Furthermore, those 21 and older will have the opportunity to play almost 700 slot-like games, watch live sporting events directly from 3 cinema-sized screens and experience magical nightly musical performances, all while sampling high-quality food and drinks from Sandy’s Ale, Big Sandy’s Burger and Sandy’s soon-to-be-popular delicious homemade pies.

Layout of the Sandy’s Racing and Gaming:

Construction on the aforementioned casino project formally began in April of this year on the 75,000 square-foot gaming property, found at the 10699 U.S. 60 in Ashland. Those leading the construction are Tri-State Building Trades and D.W. Wilburn Construction, both based in Kentucky.

Additionally, over 300 local union employees were given the job during the construction of the aforementioned casino project and 90% of all supplies and materials were developed in the U.S. When it officially opens, Sandy’s will hire almost 250 extra local citizens. On that note, Larry Lucas, president of Revolutionary Racing, which is the developer of the project in alliance with the Kentucky Quarter Horse Racing Association and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, said according to the Newswire: “We are incredibly proud to be part of the Tri-State community and even more proud to support the area with new jobs and new tax revenues.”

Sandy Ridge:

Kentucky players have one more major thing to look forward to when it comes to the new casino project. It will be home to first-ever quarter horse racetrack in Kentucky, which will be called Sandy Ridge.

It’s construction is due to start early next year and will be located on 182 acres behind the gaming estate, with the first races taking place there in two years, aka during 2025.

Sandy’s Racing and Gaming To Officially Open On October 26th

When commenting on the upcoming racetrack, Larry Lucas added: “We’re absolutely here to make money and we believe there is an economic footprint here that has 350,000 people within 50 miles. That is enough for us to get a good return on our investment.”
